Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American broadcaster. Her employer is ESPN and works as the SportsCenter News Anchor. She began working for ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. The child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since her age of nine. This skill has helped her get her first job at Univision, Miami. She worked alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her next job was as a Sports Reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. Her move from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas and Mexico. Also, she was often called upon to be a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she is more responsible. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She was promoted to anchor the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She worked in the same role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an older sister. In 1992, the family settled in Miami after relocating to Mexico to the US. After a short time, her father separated from her mother and she then remarried in 1995 a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. In June of the year 2006, Antonietta spent a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta had just graduated high school, but was already aware of the things she wanted to accomplish. The result was that she was a fan of the campus, and the university had the program she desired. After completing her high school education she attended the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the manager at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply moved by his passion for journalism.
